Post 14: Found Magazine

I like this one a lot because this is something I would do. It brought back memorizes of when I had this stalker in 5th grade and I told my best friend to get him. Memories these days huh. I totally understands how she feels too, I hated it too. Guys are so annoying.  Another reason I liked it because of the last word she uses. I must say that was pretty unique and funny. It reminds me of all the words I thought off and used. I know, I'm a mess. Go Des!!!!!!!  

Post 13: Cute Maid Cafe Food 2 By: Yatoujisatsukix

These pancakes remind me of the time I had chicken pots. I had them so bad that they were on my feet and tongue. One day when I was in bed all lonely and sad, my siblings came in with this big breakfast for me. It had human like pancakes, bacon, apple juice, and more. It felt so good to be loved and know my family care. Best breakfast I ever had!!!!! Definitely something I will cherish a lifetime.

Post 12: Jeff Koons Continued

Jeff Koons would be considered a postmodern artist because he himself said his work is, "mass cultural iconography." What this means is that he uses ideas, materials, and images from popular culture in order to create his artwork; what can also be called apporation. In addition he celebrates the, "banality of middle-class taste." Even though this modern artist is controversial, it doesn't set aside the beauty of his work. People describe him as the typical "postmodern artist" because, "Post-modern art’ is a reaction to the ‘consumerism’ that has been made possible by the fact that manufacturing of products, distribution and dissemination have become very cheap. However, instead of criticizing the ordinariness and commonness of all these products, post-modern art just accepts them, and in Koons' case somehow both celebrates and ironicizes them,"Dr. Mary Klages, Associate Professor, English Department, University of Colorado, Boulder. To me, this seems like re-contextualization because his artwork is very controversial and are characteristics of his work. Yes, I do believe Jeff Koons is a postmodern artist.

Post 11: Jeff Koons

Jeff Koons was born 1955 in York Pennslyvania. I chose this artist because his artwork was the most interesting out of the bunch. This artist didn't really catch my eye, to be honest, but it was all I had to work with given the options. The artwork by him was adorable. The dogs looks realistic and a little scary. Especially the one on the left. He looks like he's posses or something. Not a dog I would want to own. Anyways, here's my artist and a picture of his work.

Post # 10: Vampire By: Ro0t

This is a stereotype  because everyone perceive vampires as dark creature who loves to feed off of humans. As you can see in the picture, the artist created a vampire with blood all over its face and cold, unfathomable eyes. If you read books like Twilight or Vampire Diaries a lot of the vampires in these book are "vegetarians" and good hearted people. It's unfair to people who created the term vampire. In the dictionary it say, "A corpse supposed, in European folklore, to leave its grave at the night to drink the blood of the living by bitting their necks with long pointed canine teeth." As you can see, they aren't deadly creatures; they just feast off the living. And the living doesn't have to be humans, it could be animals. So vampires are a stereotype because they take the perspective of them to whole different and evil level.

In this piece of artwork, the first thing I noticed was hybridity. I noticed this because of the media created within this artwork., to me, that creates conceptual statement. It's not really abstract, obviously, but I can sense some contradictory in this piece. I feel the illusion of the future with the mechanic arm. Also, I get a sense of  china with the various lanterns. From the girls in the picture, I sense popularity and high status from the environment.

The next strategy is layering. Combining all of these feelings into one piece of artwork creates a huge contradictory. From the piece, you can get of feel of being unwanted from the the girl is looking at the mechanic hand. Placing this mechanic hand in the high status and popular area shows layering to me because it's out of place.



Post # 8: Reflection

First quarter art was something else!!!!!

 I had a lot of fun, but was also bored to death at times. 

Nevertheless, I did learn some vital information that helped me become a better artist. 

Some of the best parts about the first quarter would be drawing in general and looking at other artists' artwork. 

I was really amazed at how some people could really draw awing pieces. So cool to see! 

Another thing I like are the blogs. I love looking at the pictures people put up for their blogs. A lot of them out did mine! 

The people in the class made it fun too. There are tons of different personalities and styles. Putting them all together in one room was rewarding. I had plenty of laughs in that class! 

Some bad things about it would being the writing, cornell notes, and stuff in that area. It really made me tired, hungry, and put me in a worse mood if I already was in one. Besides that, it was fun. 

Can't wait for next quarter!!!!!!
