29: Kenny Scharf

When I first saw this blog post, I thought it was stupid (no hard feelings) because I have no interest in 21st century artists; I just like drawing. Since I needed a grade, I looked up famous 21st century artists and found Kenny Scharf. When I first saw the picture of a donut I instantly fell in love with him. It was all due to the fact that I was extremely hungry at the time. As I was looking up his artwork, I noticed how his work is all fun and games (the exact style I do). One thing that makes him unique is his originality. You won't see other artists making donuts in space, that's all him. Another thing that makes him unique is his creativity. Never once did I see any of his artwork work colorless. It's vibrant and catches the eye. Last thing that makes him unique is his "gansterness". What I mean by that is Scharf just does his own thing while he's having fun. I picked him particularly is because I can see myself being an artist that replicates Scharf. Also I really like his artwork. To me, that's one of the most influential 21st century artists in my eye at least.

Post 28: Year Book By: Cakes

Some interesting people in this high school. The flower is cool though.

Post 27: My Favorite Website

I don't really go on the computer like that, but when I do I'm always playing tetris. Tetris is just a block game where you have to connect the blocks evenly before it goes all the way to the top. As you continue, the speed of the blocks coming down goes faster and faster. There are seven main blocks with specific functions. Using them correctly keeps you from losing. I like this site because it keeps my mind sharp and it's just fun; I can play it all day if I wanted to. I guess this is apart of my identity because this game is just like me. With the right words (blocks) people can successfully know me.

Post 26: "Map of the Mind"

Originally, I had a entirely different poem; since I couldn't find an abstract picture for it I just found an old poem I liked and found an easy picture for it. Not looking at the next blog, I went with something easy just to get it out the way. Now that I'm on the next blog I'm at an stand still. For my beautiful A, I'll say a little something for you. To me, the main theme of the picture is love; and how vibrant and enjoyable love can be. I came to this conclusion because of all the variety of colors the artist used and how full the heart looks (if that makes any sense). I also think the artist is trying to say how love comes in many ways and how love can be an emotional roller coaster. From the variety of colors, once again, I came to this interpretation. Lastly, I believe the artist is trying to say how love isn't something to be scared of. For the finally time, I get this from the variety of colors she uses. Well that's all I gotta say, so deuces!!!

Post 25: The Love Recipe

The Love Recipe

1 Special person who complete your soul,
A caring heart who makes you whole.
Two Heavenly eyes in which to stare
A bushel of time you're willing to spare,
A bucket of doubts you leave behind.
A precious smile and an open mind.
Nine fingers and one thumb that runs through your hair,
One whole life you wish to share.
A dash of compassion,
A pinch of patience,
One warm body to snuggle with at night,
Two Lips to kiss when no one's looking.
Two separate hearts that beat as one,
Open arms into which you run in
Mix throughout with extra emotion,
And you've just created the perfect potion.
100% real and completely pure.

Post 24: Brazil

Brazil is just such a beautiful place. I've always wanted to go there since 6th grade. One reason is because of the beautiful scenery. When I did a project on Brazil, the pictures I looked up had me in awe. The sunsets were gorgeous, the parades are a joy to be around, and the beaches were colorful. Who wouldn't wanna go to a place like that? I also wanna go to Brazil because of the fine men that are there. Some people may find that a silly reason to go to Brazil, but I don't care. Who don't wanna be surrounded by beautiful men right? The last reason is because of the food. If any place has good food you'll see me visiting there. I love to eat so that's definitely a reason I wanna visit Brazil. If you put those 3 together, you have a strong reason to wanna visit any place.

Post 23: Island of Love

This island is the land of love. Many couples go here to reconnect or strengthen what they have. However, there was this one couple in particular that had other reasons; they wanted to find someone else to fall in love with because they were tired of each other. Not knowing the island could sense this, what they thought they would accomplish was the complete opposite. So the island can keep its legacy, the island made their time on there pure torture. The beautiful beach home couples usually have collapsed on this couple. The fresh, sweet fruit was rotten and spoiled. The beautiful weather was now cold and raining. Instead of lovable animals, they were now deadly creatures. All that time while they were being tortured, their connection got stronger without them knowing. Although their vacation was terrible the most important part was that they reestablished their love for each other. Once again the land of love kept its legacy alive.

Post 22: My Performance Artist

This is really interesting because I didn't know I had to pick a performance artist. I don't even know what is a performance artist. Please help me Ms. Coffee I'm so lost!!!

Post 21: Inkblot By Dynnad

I really like this inkblot, it's different from the ones I'm use to. Me personally I hate inkblots, my experience with them was horrible. I had anger management class for two years and my counselor loved having these inkblots sessions. I never saw the purpose of them since I never participated. Usually I would think of inkblots as something splashed on a white sheet of paper. I always wanted to know is there one main perception of an inkblot or are there many perceptions because some perception of inkblots are obvious. Perfect example is this inkblot;  my perception of this one is basically trees and bushes with their reflection in the water. If anyone gets something different I wouldn't know or understand why.

Post 20: Marcel Duchamp

This fits into the Dada Movement because during this movement artists were basically destroying artwork from left to right. As you can see Marcel Duchamp recreated the Mona Lisa with a beard and mustache. Technically he didn't destroy the artwork, but he insulted it. The Mona Lisa is a highly respected piece of artwork and Duchamp wrote all over it. Also during this time artists were call non-artists.  To me Marcel is one too since he didn't do any work at all. Seriously anybody can draw a mustache and beard so this doesn't show any originality at all. All it does it raise controversy and talk.

Post 19: My Experience

My journey, so far, isn’t an easy one at all. I’ve pulled out hair, started over at least 10 times, used 50 erasers, and more. When I heard we had to paint I knew this wasn’t going to be easy. For everybody who doesn’t know, I can’t paint if my life depended on it. My hands shake so bad I’m surprised I haven’t been diagnosed with Parkinson. That’s why I’m very grateful to have two of the most talented artists I ever seen with Lorenzo on the side : ). I really have to say what keeps me going is just laughing and having fun with my table. Even though Mz. Cheung is always gangster with me, I appreciate her completely. Having Reyna around to make sure my portraits are on point is a sign of relief as well. With crazy Lorenzo to keep us laughing makes it the perfect little table. I know people say art is an individual thing, but those three people really makes me question that. If it wasn’t for them I would be failing this project right about now. With them by my side I know I’m going to get that glorious A. So thank you all a ton! I love you guys (and gals) a bunch!

Post 18: What Do You Want From Me By: Audrey Dutroux

I really love this picture. It seems he's trying to be bad, but is really a good boy. This artist doesn't use a lot of color, but the values he used made this artwork perfect. I love how he uses the tint in the back to bring out that indescribable setting. I really like the tattoo under his left eye; very unique and intriguing. The way the cigarette in perfectly in his mouth just give me shivers. There's something about his eyes that instantly draws me to them and mesmerize me. All in all this artwork is really superb; simple but yet complex.

Post 17: Fernado Botero

I really like Botero. His artwork is very comical and intriguing to look at. I find it very ironic as well. Looking through his portraits I see that all of the people he draw are fat, but yet they are eating healthy foods. Now I know some people can't help they are fat, but you don't see none of them only eating fruit either. Anyways, back to the task. I don't see a lot of SPRITE in here. To be honest I don't see none at all. It's hard to categorize a portrait when I was only taught to categorize subjects dealing with history. Since I must socially would obviously be the he/she man. Politically would be how powerful and equal women are to men because the man is dressed in women clothes. Religiously can be how people are free to express themselves in many ways. Institutionally could be how people will be/act if they don't go to school. Technically I can't even guess. Economically could be how weak their economy is.

Post 16: Carrie Mae Weems

I'm not a fan of Carrie Mae Weems, there's just things about her artwork that is disturbing to me.  So when I had to find an image it wasn't easy at all because none of them related to me whatsoever. But since I need a grade I picked the first one I saw really. One way it relates to me is the mother and daughter relationship. In this artwork the relationship seems distant and not all that strong. That's how my relationship with my own mother is, kinda distant and not so strong. Another thing would be how formal the picture is. Whenever I take family portraits they are always in the same way, but with a sense of happiness behind it. Lastly is that they're black and I'm black : ). Yes, it's a weak comparison, but hey I needed three; so there goes my third one.

Post 15: Stencil Mix By Dru711

I really like this artwork, it's so creative and intriguing. I must say her shading had me in awe. It was incredible how her other two drawings were incorporated so cohesively with the stencil itself. Gosh, I love this! I don't see this everyday so it's a lot to take in. From looking at the artwork it's hard to tell if it's three different girls or just one in many forms, however, I think it's just one girl. What I really like that you could barely see is the girl's tattoo. I find that really original and something nobody else could think of. The more I look at it the more she reminds me of my best friend Isabel. This artwork is so her.  Isabel always wear headphones, has this cool tattoo on her arm, and loves layering her shirts. If she saw this she would think somebody drew her. All in all great work and nice going.

Post 14: Found Magazine

I like this one a lot because this is something I would do. It brought back memorizes of when I had this stalker in 5th grade and I told my best friend to get him. Memories these days huh. I totally understands how she feels too, I hated it too. Guys are so annoying.  Another reason I liked it because of the last word she uses. I must say that was pretty unique and funny. It reminds me of all the words I thought off and used. I know, I'm a mess. Go Des!!!!!!!

Post 13: Cute Maid Cafe Food 2 By: Yatoujisatsukix

These pancakes remind me of the time I had chicken pots. I had them so bad that they were on my feet and tongue. One day when I was in bed all lonely and sad, my siblings came in with this big breakfast for me. It had human like pancakes, bacon, apple juice, and more. It felt so good to be loved and know my family care. Best breakfast I ever had!!!!! Definitely something I will cherish a lifetime.
